What should your scout be doing now?

Homework, homework, homework!  Be sure to talk to your scout about what is expected of him.  If he doesn't remember, then have HIM call the counselor, they all gave out their contact information, and have him ask the counselor what he should be doing.

If he wants to earn the blue card by Saturday, it should be a priority for him to do this.

Class updates

Electricity at 10 am is FULL!

The Surveying class at 8 am is canceled due to non sign-ups during that time.

Electricity at 8 am has 7 spots left in it.

Updates on Class Totals as of March 2

Electricity at 10 am now has only 2 spots left in it.

I know many of you have talked to me personally saying you are going to register.  I haven't seen your registration yet and the classes are filling up.  Please make it a priority today to get your registration in to me.

If you son signed up for Communications be sure to get online and find out when your next city meeting is.  Don't wait, you just might miss it!

I just wanted to let everyone know about our Merit Badge Counselors.  The people who are teaching each class are experts in the fields they are teaching.  For example, the Electricity Merit Badge is taught by an Electrician who owns his own business.  The Citizenship classes are taught by people who have either served in the government at some point or are currently working in a field in conjunction with these topics.  Environmental Science is by a lady who specializes in that field.  Surveying is by men who work in this field.  As you can see, the knowledge and information that will be taught to your son is not by someone who just says, "Oh sure, I can teach that class."

Also, this Pow-wow is not the kind where we just say, "Oh, you showed up to class?  Well then, here is the blue card."  Roll will be taken, assignments will be checked and if the work is not done, the blue card will not be issued.  We are not in the practice of handing out blue cards to boys who choose not to do the work.  This IS a quality Pow wow and your boy should come away learning a wealth of knowledge.

Updates on Class Totals

Classes are beginning to fill up, I wouldn't wait to register until the very end.

Environmental Science is now FULL!

There are only 8 spots left in Electricity at 10 am

If you know of people who are still waiting, tell them to get their registration in ASAP.  You are welcome to bring it over to my house instead of mailing it in.  My address is on the registration form.

IMPORTANT........ PLEASE READ

Do to bad communication on my part I thought our Environmental Science Merit Badge Counselor could not do our Pow-wow.  It has come to my attention that she is in fact planning on it.  YEAH!!!  Sorry to those who have already downloaded the registration form.  I have now added the Environmental Science class to the list.  It will be offered from 8 am to 10 am both Saturdays.  HOWEVER, there is a 10 person class limit size because of the nature of everything that has to be done.  This really isn't a merit badge for the younger scouts, ages 11, because of the necessity to stay on task about a number of things.  But the decision is yours.  I have redone the Registration form to reflect this addition.

Please help to spread the word to others of this new addition!

Clarification on a few questions people have asked

Some of you have had trouble reading the mailing address and have had a few other questions.  Let me clarify them.

The mailing address is 1418 W 475 S  Farmington, UT  84025

The cost is $15 per boy, not per merit badge or per day.

The merit badge classes last both Saturdays and they must attend both Saturdays in order to earn the merit badges.

There are limits to some classes and in order to secure your seat or seats I must have BOTH the registration form and the money before your seat is guaranteed.  So if anyone is planning on showing up and paying on the day of the Merit Badges, you might not get into some classes you want as they could be full.

I will post when classes that have size limits, are full, on the blog.  I also have extra registration forms at my house if you are having trouble printing them or cannot print them because your printer isn't working.

Registration Form and Merit Badge Worksheets

We will be offering the following Merit Badges for sure.  Please note that there are a few that the scouts will NEED to do a few prerequisites for.  These are a must for passing off the Merit Badge.  Do not come ill-prepared, please.  There is a PDF link (which takes you to a Google Docs Page) you are welcome to download and print off the worksheet the counselors will be using.  We will also have some there available as well.  For those Merit Badges that have pre-requisites it would be advisable to print off a copy for your scout so they can know exactly what they need to accomplish before the Pow-Wow.

Some classes have class size limits. Your spot will be held only by receiving payment along with registration form.  Make a copy of this form before you mail it in so you know what classes you are taking.
